I need your help!

Now that I’m starting to gather more pictures and am building my portfolio for my photography, I’m at the point where I guess I need a name! I am REALLY indecisive on what I should name it. I decided that you guys would be great to ask because you are removed from the situation. Please please please comment and tell me which name you like best, or any other names you can think of! Be honest!

What I would like: Something classy, yet I a little on the playful side. I want it to be professional, but not too straight forward where my personally can’t show through.

Here is a pretty brand with pretty colors to get your creative juices flowing.

And now for the names! Drum roll please!

Susan Lines Photography
To be honest, this is just blahhh to me. But my good friend Carly mentioned that people are FIRST seeing my work, then my name. So while it might seem like an older name, they would see what I look like first and put together that I’m “young and hip.” <—Her words, not mine.

Dee-Da-Lee Photography
Has a ring to it, doesn’t it? Go ahead, say it out loud. When I was little my parents would always find me staring out of the window in the back of the car day dreaming. I would say these words over and over, sometimes for 30 or 40 minutes at a time. “Doo-da-loo-da-loo, Dee-Da-Lee-Da-Lee” in a really soft voice. I don’t know why I would say that, but it always made my parents smile. I’m actually surprised my brother never punched me in the face for saying this over and over. However, he did convince me to stick a raisin up my nose, which followed with a hospital visit to extract the raisin. Maybe that was his payback.

Between The Lines Photography
Haha, get it- because my last name is Lines. And because photos are about taking pictures of not only the big moments, like when you walk down the aisle. But the moments in between, like that moment where you and your dad look at each other while you’re walking down the aisle. Thank you to my roommate who is clever and thought of this. She also thought of Suzels Says.

I like Dee-da-lee. But I think too many photography business ends with "photography". I think I'd like Dee-Da-Lee Images.

That's my 2 cents.

I like Between the Lines. I love the idea that you are able to capture something that isn't obvious and that maybe others wouldn't see. And, a little sassy! :)

I definitely like Between The Lines! It isn't the most original name, but it incorporates a peice of your name as well as a little creativity.

I vote for your name! My friend uses her name and does so well! If she introduces herself to someone they'll say, 'Oh! You're a photographer!' Seems like word spreads quickly with a name. And yours is easy to remember!

Susan lines photography sounds like a place I would choose...the other names don't sound so businessy to me but if you don't like that one than I would like Between The Lines.

I think Susan Lines Photography would be easiest to market/brand. That way people only have 1 thing to remember to find you. Plus, there's another relatively well known company called between the lines photography. I think they are fine art. It may be hard to compete with them in terms of SEO.

I like Between the Lines but people might remember your actual name better.

Good luck!

I like "Between the Lines" the best -- it has your name in it so people don't forget AND it has a great double meaning :)

i like between the lines. but right when i started reading the post i was thinking susan shoots. that's cute. but hey, that's just me.

i think the name is just part of it. the way you design your business cards and website will speak more about your personality and style.

I love Between the Lines because it's clever & cute, although you can never go wrong with your name. It depends if you want to expand your business with other photographers too, in that case I would go with Between the Lines!!

I like Between the Lines. It references your name so people can still think back to you but it is a little more fun than just your name.

I hope you figure out one soon that is perfect for you.

Between the Lines...but maybe in your logo have "Lines" as a different scripted font so it stands out as your name. Super creative roommate - what a blessing!

Just came across your blog. Loving it! I also do photography and when I picked my name I got other's opinions to because I couldn't make up my mind, I am a daydream of sorts and eventually settled on Forever Dream Photography. So I know how that is. I love the Between the Lines, fun, cute, but professional, and still gives your name in a way. Good Luck on picking one that feels like you!
