First off, about a month ago I got in touch with my dear friend Carly from college. I had a strong pull on my heart to reach out to her and let her know I was in the area. Carly is an amazing wedding photographer and also does community service photography projects in Ethiopia, where her boyfriend is stationed in the peace corps.
We decided that we would go on a photography filed trip. We met up and drove in to Georgetown, DC and just started shooting. It felt like we just picked up from where we left off in college. I can really see the Lord pulling on her heart and I’m so excited to give her a bible and teach her how much He loves her. I’m also excited to learn more about photography from her and have many more adventures! With that being said, here is the big announcement…
Carly asked me to be her assistant wedding photographer! Uhh, YEAH! If you have been reading my blog, this is my dream job. And I CAN. NOT. WAIT. to start shooting. I have my first wedding THIS month! Here is an engagement shot that inspired me this week:
Back to our photography field trip. If you ever get a chance to come to DC, make sure you stop in Georgetown. In my opinion, it’s the best part of the city. It’s always so lively and beautiful. And you know that cupcake craze that is going on? Well is all started here in Georgetown, at Georgetown Cupcakes! My camera ran out of battery half way through (bad planning on my part), so we shared Carly’s camera. Some of these shots are mine, some are hers- I can’t really remember who’s are who.
On a complete separate note- David got put on the minor league team in North Carolina! North Carolina as in the state next to Virginia! Gah! I'm so excited. Now I will get to see him once every couple of months, rather than go a whole season without him. Yayy! Oh-and happy three year anniversary D!
Happy Sunday people!
Where is your favorite place to shoot?

Just found your blog through Steph Sweet Life. Loving it and already sent you a message about the coffee mug swap!
Also, I have a photography question for you. I really love to take photos, but 1. I'm not the best at it and 2. I don't have a DSLR camera. Do you have any suggestions for starting out? Mainly about how to capture the best composition of something. Also, do you have any "beginner" DSLR camera suggestions? I have been saving up for one, I just don't know which one to get. I don't need a super fancy one since I don't really know what I'm doing yet. All suggestions are welcome. :)
Thanks Susan!
That's it. I must follow. Wait right here....let me go click...
And...I'm back. Yippee!
Here's where the awesomeness of why I suddenly decided to follow you comes in (though it was inevitable). I'm a photographer in Miami (so I guess you could say it's my favorite place to shoot? Actually, it's probably New York City)...anyway...you have to read my post (well, "have to" are a strong words - haha) just a few days ago about wedding photography. I've been saying "No, no, no. I'm not doing weddings" and it's like God keeps saying..."Um, yes you are." Lol. Gotta love it.
Gods plans are always better.
Congratulations on getting started with what you love. Those are some cool shots. Really like that night shot of the town and the colorful houses. :)
Btw...you should know that I tend to leave long, random, and sometimes nonsensical comments. ;)
