High Five for Friday

{one}
My sweet mom sent me a Starbucks gift certificate after I got my wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago and I just remembered. What a great way to start the weekend. She sent the letter from “Winnie the Pooh” and even signed it from him (I have had a winnie the pooh that my grandma gave me when I was one, and still sleep with it do this day. #needtogrowup). She also put two dog paw stickers on the outside of the envelope and wrote my dog’s names next to them...like she could really trick me and make me think that my dogs actually stamped it. I love my mom.

The other day was SO nice out that I decided to walk to get lunch at work. When I was walking back I passed a guy waiting for the bus drinking coffee. Then the bus came. Then he just placed his coffee cup on the ground and jumped on the bus. I thought “Really?!!?” So I walked over to pick up the coffee to throw it away and happened to see the cup had this written on it:

IF YOU ARE GOING TO LITTER, MAKE SURE THERE ISN’T A “TAKE CARE OF OUR PLANET” MESSAGE ON IT! #firstworldproblems

I’m not going to lie, part of me thought I was on a show where there were video cameras and they just wanted to see if I would do the right thing and pick up a strangers trash. I mean, I would have thrown it away anyways. But I did look around for cameras.

I’m going down to see my boyfriend this weekend. YAY! Since they spend HOURS warming up, I plan on taking a trip in to Charlotte to find some awesome places to take pictures. Any recommendations?!

Someone at work yesterday told me that her wedding photographer cancelled and asked me if I wanted to do it. I said, “YEAH!' Then realized I have never done a wedding by myself before and got super nervous. Yikes!

Now that I’m really getting in to wedding photography, I’m starting to think that this is really what I want to do in life. I might be jumping the gun, and I know I’m new at it, but I figure if I’m going to do something I might as well do it right.

So I spend the past couple of days thinking of business names, how I want to get my name out there, setting up a website, portfolio, etc. Any suggestions on business names would be appreciated! I was thinking Susan Louise Photography (Louise is my middle name, originally Louisa from Sweeden :) but I can’t figure out if that’s cool and hip, or sounds like a 70 year old. Thoughts? Be honest!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hahaha I would have thought that the man leaving a "go green" cup on the street was a joke, too! WHAT THE HECK is wrong with people?!

The note your mom sent you reminds me of ones my grandma sends me :) Sometimes she'll send me mail that's "from my cat" haha she cracks me up :)

AND congrats on you pushing your passion in photography, girl! That's awesome and so inspiring! Good luck on picking out a name!

Happy Friday!

Haha, I totally would have checked for video cameras, too! That's hilarious.

Have fun with your boyfriend this weekend! I'm about to enter a year and a half long separation with mine, so I can totally relate to how you must feel. Happy Friday!

i LOVE that your mom sent you a card from your stuffed winnie the pooh! i definitely have a bear i still sleep with, so maybe i need to grow up to... but why rush? ;)

and since you asked specifically for thoughts, i'm on the fence about susan louise photography... i think it sounds really pretty. i'm not sure cool or hip are the first words that would come to mind though... but ultimately you're opinion matters the most!

The card your mom sent you is too cute! I still sleep with my blankie from when I was little. I'm beginning there are more of us that sleep with something than those that don't!

Congrats on wanting to get more serious in the photography business. You are great at it, so I'm sure your business will succeed! :)

Cracking up over the cup...hilarious. And so, so ridiculous.

Good luck at the wedding! I'm sure you'll be awesome. Such an awesome career that would be!

LOL at the man leaving the "green" cup on the ground! That is pretty bad! I would have been looking for hidden cameras too, actually, haha!

I think the opportunity to photograph your workmate's wedding will be awesome! I did laugh at the dog picture though, that's really cute. :)

I found your blog just a few weeks ago linked up with FromMyGreyDesk. I have to say it is so rereshing to find a community of Christian bloggers who share the same faith I have in Jesus Christ. I have a lot of things in common with you (long distance boyfriend, figuring out what the next steps in life are and of course striving to please Jesus with my life). I have found so much encouragement and I just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work. You may not know it, but you are impacting others and making a difference.

I love that about the cup, some people are just so oblivious. You are such a sweet person. I love reading you blogs, and I love your love for the lord.

With that being said, I nominated you for the Liebster blog award. A little silly but still nice to be appreciated, I was excited when I was nominated. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading your blog.

Thanks!

That is awesome, your mom is the best for sending you the Starbucks gift card. Good luck with the wedding photography! =)

(Found your blog through Kate As Of Late) Your mom is pretty awesome, but that guy is such a hypocrite for littering in spite of the go-green message. People like that amaze me. Is it really so hard to find a trash can, especially in a city?

This is my first trip to your blog, so my opinions for the title of your photography business probably don't count for much, but I like the name Suzels. I think it's distinctive and stands out. Photos by Suzels? Haha. Alright, maybe not. Good luck!
